Final Thoughts on Egypt

As we spend our last day around the hotel, downloading photos to snapfish, there's nothing more revealing than going through your memories as you flip through each picture. It's been an interesting visit here, and while I might say that it is a beautiful land full of history and ancient culture, I do not plan on ever revisiting.

Tomorrow morning, Friday the 20th, we leave for Athens, Greece, to hopefully see another ancient culture's legacy. I can only hope that we are now richer for the experience by using what we have learned here about being ripped-off and apply it there.

So, another 8 days of Greece, and we will return home, God-willing, or "insha-allah". By the by, whoever might be reading this, we love and miss you greatly. (HUG).

Egypt

The weather here is hot, arid, with a touch of smog...ok, more than just a touch. You can't take a drive anywhere without inhaling enough diesel fumes to instill emphesema. The people here are varied. Most want to scam you out of as much money as possible, while others want to make a buck, but they go out of their way in helping you feel more at home.

The Sphinx and the Pyramids are huge, beautiful, and worth seeing, if not for the crappy camel ride that almost made me want to grifball the hell out of the guys who tried to steal Kristelle and rape me of my money. All in all, it's been a good trip, the things we've seen and learn are not soon to be forgotten. Alexandria is superb with the Citadel that once was the site of the ancient lighthouse, where now a Citadel remains. The Mediterranean coast is by far the best thing we have seen or felt since arriving.

Stay tuned for our next trip into Greece, starting this Friday. With Love,

Jordi

Pre-Trip

We begin our excursion on Friday the 13th, an ominous omen....sorry, alliteration is overwhelming there. We leave by 0630, for a 3 hour flight to New York, where we exchange airports and have a 7 hour 20 minute layover. Hopefully we can go into Manhattan and see Times Square before having to leave again.

Following this there is a 16 hour flight, straight to Cairo, Egypt. Intense, yes. We will update as soon as we can while there.
